The CBT is a structured syllabus laid down by the DSA, set to teach novice riders the basics of motorcycling. After completion of training the rider is issued with a CBT certificate, which is valid for two years and allows them to ride a 125cc motorcycle (with L plates). The CBT course includes practical exercises, plus training on safety, clothing and road riding (accompanied by an instructor).

We offer the CBT as a one or two day course. A one day course is not appropriate for everyone. You need to be a confident car driver used to manual geared cars, with good physical co-ordination skills, have reasonable strength and fitness. In our experience, individuals who are of a small stature, are nervous or not used to physical exertion struggle to complete a CBT in one day. It is also recommennec that they can also ride a byccycle before attempting CBT.

A two day CBT course enables the individual to have a full day of motorcycle training on the private training pad before taking to the road with your instructor. Riders who book the two day course and progress well will also have the chance to upgrade to a 500cc+ motorcycle (subject to age and availability) for use on the private training pad to see whether they would like to do further training on a big bike at a later stage (subject to instructor decision).
A two day CBT course is a perfect try out for your partner, if you are booking a 3 day or 5 day course.

What CBT involves. It is not a test. it's training. The instructor will guide you from start to finish.
